Chief Accountant

Butler Brothers Supplies Ltd., a Victoria-based Aggregate and Concrete supplier, with operations on Southern Vancouver Island, has a permanent, full-time position for a Chief Accountant to be responsible for all accounting processes.

Credentials, Skills and Experience:

• A relevant accounting designation
• Experience in all aspects of corporate accounting
• Extensive computer experience with Windows, Excel, Outlook and Accounting Software, as well as familiarity with hardware and networking
• Experience with Great Plains Dynamics would be an asset
• Interpersonal skills
• Communication skills - both verbal and written - and keen attention to detail

Duties:

Financial Information and Reporting

• Monthly financial statements and supporting reports
• Year-end financial statements and supporting working papers for external accountants
• Participation in design and review of systems and controls
• Preparation tax filings and work with external/government auditors
• Back-up for our computerized payroll system

Information Systems

• Involvement with information systems including design, upgrades and maintenance
• Involvement with network administration
